Kids ebooks for the iPad
After hearing all the rave reviews, I recently purchased the Alice in Wonderland interactive ebook for my kids, which they absolutely loved. I was especially impressed with the interactive features of the book, which really made the book come alive and bring you into the story. Are there any other interactive kids ebooks available for the iPad similar to Alice in Wonderland?

All of the Toy Story read-along ebooks are great for my kids because it allows me to record myself reading the story. That way, whenever I'm not around, my kids can always bring me with them as if I'm reading them a bedtime story. The book is gorgeously illustrated and there's fun interactive features like a digital coloring book. There's also a mode that reads the book aloud and turns the pages automatically, transforming the book into a movie. There's a free version that you can try out and if you like it, you should definitely get Toy Story 3. This version is revolutionary because it lets your kids view pages in 3D on their iPad with 3D glasses (available at the Disney Store). I don't think there's any other ebook that can do this!!

Jack and the Beanstalk is a fantastic interactive book full of games, activities, and hidden goodies which make the whole experience a lot more fun than other ordinary ebooks. There's a memory game, finger painting game, and other bells and whistles. A great app to have in your collection.

If your kids liked the Alice in Wonderland ebook, then you'll love the Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol book. All of the Dr. Seuss books are interactive and will read the book to your kids if they don't know how yet. Compared to the Alice in Wonderland ebook, the interactivity is pretty limited, kids can only swipe to turn the pages and tap the photos to learn words. But they're still classic Dr. Seuss stories which are entertaining in themselves, so I think it's worth getting the best ones. Here's my top 5 favorite Dr. Seuss books:

I recommend getting Miss Spider's Tea Party ebook. It brilliantly uses the iPad's multitouch features to the max, with animations, painting games, puzzles, etc. You just sit back and the book reads itself. Very engaging for the kids.

I loved the movie How to Train Your Dragon and now it's been adapted into a wonderful interactive ebook. My 6 year old nephew loves it. The story, graphics, and sounds are all great. I especially love the cool feature where it reads the story and turns the pages for you.

Remember the Berenstain Bears books from childhood? Oh yeah, now you can get them on iTunes! I don't remember them having Christian Bible verses, but apparently they do! Still, you gotta love these classics. I love the fact that they're still around. They're little bear family is absolutely adorable!
