Books app for international iPad users
Outside the US, Apple apparently hasn't signed many deals with book publishers, making iBooks not very useful with it's severely limited selection. Here in Australia, we've waited a very long time just to see ANY books in the iBookstore. The books that they do offer are ridiculously expensive, especially when compared to the prices in the US. Is there another app with perhaps a better, more affordable selection of books that works for international purchases?

As far as I can tell, Amazon has - and has always had - the lowest-priced ebooks available, as well as the biggest selection. They know books and they know publishers. They have apps available for all the Apple devices. And if you really want to save more pennies, you can use a US Kindle account to buy from the US store. There's really absolutely no reason that I can see to invest in content from the iBooks store.

Stanza is the best international alternative to iBooks that I've come across. The app itself is free and gives you quick access to a huge library of free books, plus the ability to buy books from any of their partners, particularly Feedbooks, which is based in France and has a pretty decent selection of books to choose from.

Have you tried using an app called Kobo? It's the e-reader app for Border's book store, which will give you access to their entire library of ebooks. I'm not sure about the price, but you're welcome to browse their selection of ebooks available in Australia here:
